Hometown Heroes Parade

Hundreds of people lined the streets in Downtown Sacramento on September 11 to honor three men — Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone — during the Sacramento Hometown Heroes Parade. The three men are hailed as heroes for helping stop a terrorist plot on Aug. 21 aboard a Paris-bound train.

Race for the Arts

The 17th Annual Race for the Arts 5K and Kid’s Fun Runs were held August 22 in William Land Park. It was an event with exercise, entertainment, and plenty of fun. Runners and walkers were entertained by costumed characters, music, art, dance, and interactive booths.

2015 Pride Awards

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center held the 2015 Pride Awards on August 18 to celebrate successes and recognize acts of leadership and everyday heroism that make a difference in the LGBT community. The evening reception included an awards presentation emceed by Rob Stewart from Rob on the Road, hosted appetizers and entertainment featuring Supervisor Phil Serna’s band “UnSupervised.”

SRBX Summer BBQ

More than 200 members of the commercial architecture, construction and engineering industries attended the SRBX Summer BBQ on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Lions Gate Hotel & Conference Center. July Metro Edge Mixer

Metro EDGE recently hosted an interactive mixer at Blue Prynt in which attendees were able to network with other young professionals while playing “Guess Who!?” Each attendee received a character name that was placed on their back and they had to walk around and ask yes or no questions to try and figure out who they were. The room was full of energy as the game provided a fun and creative way to make new connections!
