Nearly 150 volunteers spent Saturday, September 19, sprucing up 10 homes in South Oak Park during the 26th annual Paint the Town event, sponsored by NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region.
Hometown Heroes Parade
Hundreds of people lined the streets in Downtown Sacramento on September 11 to honor three men — Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone — during the Sacramento Hometown Heroes Parade. The three men are hailed as heroes for helping stop a terrorist plot on Aug. 21 aboard a Paris-bound train.
Race for the Arts
The 17th Annual Race for the Arts 5K and Kid’s Fun Runs were held August 22 in William Land Park. It was an event with exercise, entertainment, and plenty of fun. Runners and walkers were entertained by costumed characters, music, art, dance, and interactive booths.
NAIOP Annual Development 2016
On September 2 NAIOP Sacramento Valley held their Development 2016 and Project Tour. Attendees enjoyed a hosted discussion of projects and development in our region from the developers and the plans to support growth and development in 2016 and beyond.
2015 Pride Awards
The Sacramento LGBT Community Center held the 2015 Pride Awards on August 18 to celebrate successes and recognize acts of leadership and everyday heroism that make a difference in the LGBT community. The evening reception included an awards presentation emceed by Rob Stewart from Rob on the Road, hosted appetizers and entertainment featuring Supervisor Phil Serna’s band “UnSupervised.”
SRBX Summer BBQ
More than 200 members of the commercial architecture, construction and engineering industries attended the SRBX Summer BBQ on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Lions Gate Hotel & Conference Center. Attendees were greeted by DJ CoCo, summer drinks and a full BBQ dinner. The presenting sponsor was Rodoslovich | Parker, PC, and the media sponsor was Comstock’s Magazine.
