The Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners held Entrepreneur’s Edge with the theme “Level Up” at the historic Sutter Club on July 23.

The California State Fair came to an end this past weekend after another successful year. Despite temperatures reaching triple digits many days, Cal Expo was crowded with thousands enjoying the fascinating exhibits, popular livestock shows, mouthwatering food and award-winning wine tasting. 

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northern California held a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the 20-bedroom expansion of the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House on July 18.

Metro EDGE recently hosted an interactive mixer at Blue Prynt in which attendees were able to network with other young professionals while playing “Guess Who!?” Each attendee received a character name that was placed on their back and they had to walk around and ask yes or no questions to try and figure out who they were. The room was full of energy as the game provided a fun and creative way to make new connections!

The Sacramento Metro Chamber held their 3rd Annual Metro Chamber Golf Tournament on June 29 at Catta Verdera Country Club. 

Center for Fathers and Families’ 13th annual Salute to Fatherhood Banquet was held June 17 at the DoubleTree Hotel, Sacramento. It was a touching evening celebrating local men who excel as fathers, father-figures, or mentors.

On June 20, Lionakis hosted the 5th Annual George Lionakis Memorial Golf Tournament at Morgan Creek Golf Club. It was a beautiful day for a round of golf, with over 144 players, cold drinks and fantastic prizes. Proceeds from the event went to the Lionakis Foundation Endowment, benefiting a variety of local charitable organizations.

On June 20 The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held it’s annual Man & Woman of the Year Awards at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is an annual 10-week fundraising competition between community leaders united by one goal, to use their leadership skills to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives. 

Comstock’s held a VIP Customer Appreciation on night on June 23, beginning with food and libations at the always terrific Tequila Museo Mayahuel Restaurant, and then followed by watching dinosaurs chew people to bits in the latest installment of the Jurassic Park series: Jurassic World in 3D on the 6-story Esquire IMAX screen.
