Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 20th Anniversary Grand Finale Gala
On June 11, more than 500 guests attended the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Grand Finale Gala at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. Jeff Anderson of Coldwell Banker and Nolana Mymka Daoust of Kaiser Permanente won the titles of Man & Woman of the Year for 2016 and more than $455,000 was raised for cancer research and patient services.
2016 Pride Awards and VIP Reception
The 2016 Pride Awards took place on Capitol Mall, the same place where Sacramento Pride holds its festival. VIPs and guests enjoyed a reception at the Wells Fargo building with a hosted bar and appetizers by Il Fornaio, a live auction by David Sobon Auctions & Events, and food by Empress Tavern and Mother restaurants.
10th Annual Cheers for Children Fundraiser
The 10th Annual Cheers for Children Fundraiser Event, benefiting Junior Achievement of Sacramento, hosted over 150 guests at the private Residence of VIP CEO Jonna Ward in Granite Bay on June 10th. The night included fabulous food & libations by Russell Okubo, a live auction by David Sobon, a bourbon experience hosted by the Bourbon Babes and a VIP Cigar Lounge. Due to the generosity of the various members of the community, Junior Achievement was able to raise $75k to spread JA programs to even more local K-12 grade classrooms.
Jaguar Sacramento’s “New Generation of Jaguar” Launch Party
Jaguar Sacramento was thrilled to host the regional debut of the all-new Jaguar XE and F-Pace at the stunning Mather Aviation airplane hangar. Guests dined on a variety British-inspired small bites while taking a closer peek at the first vehicles to be identified as the New Generation of Jaguar.
Sacramento “Pride Over Prejudice” Public Art Project
In light of the Pulse Night Club shooting in Orlando, Florida, a local community coalition including The Sacramento LGBT Community Center, Latino Center of Art and Culture, Team Darrell Steinberg, The California Endowment and others led a public art project on Sunday, June 19 as a symbol of solidarity with the LGBTQ community. The art project repurposed campaign yard signs from the recent California primary election by painting over them with the message “Pride over Prejudice.”
25th Annual Feast in the Streets
The 25th Annual Feast in the Streets was held on May 25th at 15 and C streets in downtown Sacramento, across from the Francis House Center. All proceeds went to Francis House Center, working to assist those in the community struggling with homelessness.
Boys and Girls Club Broke Ball and Fundraiser
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento held their 20th anniversary Broke Ball and fundraiser, with the theme “Denim & Diamonds,” on May 6 at the Lemon Hill Boys and Girls Club location. The evening included a special tribute to Fred Teichert and the Teichert Foundation.
NAIOP Person of the Year Award and Dinner
NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Sacramento Valley Chapter, held their Person of the Year Award and Dinner in downtown Sacramento, on May 11, 2016. The night honored Kevin Ramos, Buzz Oates’ Chief Investment Officer, with a VIP reception, staging and dinner outside on the mall.
City Year Sacramento Ripples of Hope
City Year Sacramento’s annual Ripples of Hope event was held May 19 at the California Museum in downtown Sacramento. More than $300,000 was raised to help City Year students through sponsorships and an auction held that evening.
California Musical Theatre Broadway Gala
The Broadway Gala on May 7, benefitted California Musical Theatre’s performing arts education and Music Circus productions. Over 450 business and community leaders attended the gala at the historic Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.
