The BIG event was held on August 6 at the Scottish Rite Center in downtown Sacramento, as one of two major fundraisers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area.

The event raised funds for more than 230 matches, outreach and recruitment in the areas of Yolo, Placer and Sacramento counties. Meteorologist Darren Peck from Fox40 played emcee to more than 200 attendees, as the 2016 Big Sister and Big Brother of the Year were recognized for their years of service.
