Sacramento “Pride Over Prejudice” Public Art Project

In light of the Pulse Night Club shooting in Orlando, Florida, a local community coalition including The Sacramento LGBT Community Center, Latino Center of Art and Culture, Team Darrell Steinberg, The California Endowment and others led a public art project on Sunday, June 19 as a symbol of solidarity with the LGBTQ community. The art project repurposed campaign yard signs from the recent California primary election by painting over them with the message “Pride over Prejudice.”

25th Annual Feast in the Streets

The 25th Annual Feast in the Streets was held on May 25th at 15 and C streets in downtown Sacramento, across from the Francis House Center. All proceeds went to Francis House Center, working to assist those in the community struggling with homelessness.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento held their 20th anniversary Broke Ball and fundraiser, with the theme “Denim & Diamonds,” on May 6 at the Lemon Hill Boys and Girls Club location. The evening included a special tribute to Fred Teichert and the Teichert Foundation.

NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Sacramento Valley Chapter, held their Person of the Year Award and Dinner in downtown Sacramento, on May 11, 2016. The night honored Kevin Ramos, Buzz Oates’ Chief Investment Officer, with a VIP reception, staging and dinner outside on the mall.

City Year Sacramento Ripples of Hope

City Year Sacramento’s annual Ripples of Hope event was held May 19 at the California Museum in downtown Sacramento. More than $300,000 was raised to help City Year students through sponsorships and an auction held that evening.

The Broadway Gala on May 7, benefitted California Musical Theatre’s  performing arts education and Music Circus productions. Over 450 business and community leaders attended the gala at the historic Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2016 Students of the Year

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2016 Students of the Year Finale took place at Niello Mini with more than 200 people attending. The total campaign included 10 student pairs, representing eight local high schools and more than $260,000 was raised for LLS.

Habitat For Humanity 3rd Annual Hard Hats and High Heels Gala

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento’s 3rd Annual Hard Hats and High Heels Gala was held on April 21 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center. The night included food, drink and a live auction to support building homes for families in need int he Sacramento and Yolo communities.
