Roth Estate 2009 Sauvignon Blanc, Alexander Valley, $17:

This debut vintage has distinct tropical characters with fragrant lychee and lively pineapple flavors. This Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from top-quality vineyards in the central and northern portion of Alexander Valley, along the meanders of the Russian River. To maintain the brightness and delicate flavors, the wine was aged exclusively in stainless steel.

Where to find it:

Kupros Bistro (kuprosbistro.com), Rio City Café (riocitycafe.com) and Mix Downtown (mixdowntown.net).

What to eat with this wine:

Chicken and ricotta ravioli with Casale Farms beets, wild arugula, parmigiano-reggiano, jus and beuree monté.

Steve Tokuhama is the owner of Kupros Bistro, located on 21st Street in the 100-year-old Craftsman that formerly housed the Cheap Thrills costume shop.
