Pinnacle Emergency Management

THE EXPERTS IN DISASTER RESTORATION

Back Sponsored Mar 27, 2025

The Client

Spencer Building Maintenance, a full-service custodial and building maintenance firm, serves their customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They are humble, joyful professionals who clean where people work and improve every environment they touch. With an unparalleled emphasis on customer service, they dependably provide the highest quality services, tailored to each client’s unique specifications.

The Disaster

A large fire erupted at the Spencer Building Maintenance office on April 16, 2024. The impact was enormous — security, IT and telephone systems were inoperable, there was significant loss of business and personal property, and the 12,000-square-foot building was red-tagged and unsafe to enter, impacting 450 Spencer employees that daily service more than 25 million square feet of property.

The Response

Aaron Spencer, owner of Spencer Building Maintenance, calmly took control and called Pinnacle’s owner, Leo Grover, at 5:30 a.m. Pinnacle immediately established seamless communication with Aaron, the City of Rancho Cordova, the fire investigator and insurance personnel.

Pinnacle’s professionals engineered and shored the collapsing building while preserving the origin of the fire for investigators; established emergency power for security gates, equipment and lighting; established 24-hour security to minimize additional damage and theft; inventoried and packed out all priority business items to the Pinnacle warehouse for ozone processing; detailed, cleaned and ozoned 12,000 square feet to operate; and packed back all priority items to reopen portions of the building to staff five days later, enabling Spencer to continue all business operations without disruption (other than one job delayed by two hours when a Spencer truck was blockaded by fire trucks). Pinnacle restored and repaired the building to fully reoccupy in 111 days after the permit was issued.

“Leo and his team effectively responded and managed a very large task with efficiency,” says CEO Aaron Spencer. “Pinnacle’s project management skills, detailed reporting, interfacing with the insurance company — all while assisting our management team — was seamless and very much appreciated.”
