The Pacific Rim Street Fest is a major program of the Asian Pacific Rim Foundation, and this year celebrated its 18th anniversary in style. Dozens of vendors, dance groups, bands and musicians filled Old Town Sacramento to celebrate the cultures of the Pacific Rim. The event was supported by major industries and community groups throughout Northern California, including the Sacramento Bee, Wells Fargo, KCRA/MY58 and the Westfield Downtown Plaza. The Sacramento region reflects the growing diverse Asian Pacific population of California. To honor and celebrate that cultural richness and ethnic diversity, restaurateur Frank Fat and community leaders created the Pacific Rim Street Fest in 1993. Photos: Tia Gemmell
