At the new Sutter Medical Center campus in midtown, ambulances arrive every six to 10 minutes. The staff planned the August 8 “Move Day” for three years and prepared by holding numerous team exercises and mock moves.
Used gurneys are disinfected on-site at Sutter Medical Center before each ambulance returns to Sutter Memorial Hospital to transport another patient. Sutter used a rotating fleet of 14 ambulances to complete its one-day move.
