Sacramento Food Policy Council held a mural unveiling as part of the Creative Economy Pilot Project on Jan. 17 at the Oak Park Art Garden at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and 14th Avenue in Historic Oak Park. City officials and community members gathered to celebrate a new bilingual mural that informs CalFresh recipients that they can use their benefits to purchase healthy, local food at farmers’ markets. The Council received a Creative Economy grant for this project to advance an equitable farm-to-fork economy and contribute to the region’s robust public art scene.
