Vanessa Ryan brings her longtime banking experience and public sector banking expertise to Tri Counties Bank, stepping into the position of Senior Vice President, Lead Director of Public Sector Banking this past September. She supports communities throughout California with banking strategies and solutions, developing relationships with municipalities, cities, counties, public schools, charter schools, special districts and health care organizations.
“My passion for banking dates back to 1988 and my very first job as a teller with Sacramento Savings Bank, a local staple of that era,” says Ryan. In her 33-year career, Ryan has held positions such as vice president of retail banking, business development/marketing, middle market/municipal banking for a regional community bank, and most recently, executive vice president, public sector banking for a business bank.
Ryan’s continuing career focus has been helping communities, and her broader understanding of how a bank can support public entities is her strength. She says, “Cities, counties, schools and other public organizations are such vital clients, and working with them requires creativity, adaptability and the ability to analyze and solve their complex banking situations. Success means giving them confidence about the bank that is caring for their funds and supporting their mission.”
