Mackenzie brings scale and expertise to large, complex projects across the country with licenses in nearly 30 states and more than 200 professionals. This unified, multi-disciplinary design firm provides a holistic suite of services including architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering and land use planning.
Headquartered in Portland with several offices in the Pacific Northwest, Mackenzie has opened a Sacramento office. Associate Principal Jan Mason oversees the Sacramento office and the team staffing this newest location, and she will be interviewing and hiring to add to their Sacramento team.
“We see ourselves as partners for our clients and stewards for the community. That formula works well for us and we are excited to bring it to Sacramento.”— Jan Mason, Associate Principal, Sacramento Lead
“After an exhaustive search of cities similar in size and scale, and with the help of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council’s research and data, we chose Sacramento,” says Mason. “We’ve worked projects in this area for the past couple of decades but are pleased to locate here to support our clients even more effectively. We’re excited to grow this office and deepen our regional engagement.”
Mackenzie focuses primarily on commercial markets, including advanced technology, industrial, retail, health care, public safety and multifamily residential. With a vast aptitude for complex projects, the firm partners with clients from concept to ribbon-cutting and navigates all regulatory issues along the way.
“There are California values we want to be part of and as an integrated design firm, we can,” notes Mason. “As architects, engineers, designers and planners, we all speak the same language to provide clients with predictable outcomes and the kind of certainty that the market really needs. We see ourselves as partners for our clients and stewards for the community. That formula works well for us and we are excited to bring it to Sacramento.”
Mackenzie recognizes that the Greater Sacramento area has the right ingredients for long-term economic strength and growth, and Mason has taken a role with GSEC’s Competitiveness Council to help this region be the most economically viable it can be.
“Sacramento is in an exciting position right now,” Mason says. “Mackenzie’s skillset and approach are uniquely aligned to have a positive impact on the community and we’re thrilled to partner with GSEC to put all the pieces together for success.”
