Ahamadou Alainchar Bocar leads CohnReznick’s assurance practice in Sacramento. Bocar joined CohnReznick as a manager upon the Sacramento office’s 2003 opening, was quickly promoted to senior manager, and by 2007, was promoted to partner. In more than 23 years with the firm, he’s built a thriving career on deep audit, finance, tax and accounting expertise. 

Bocar’s client service approach is grounded in trust, consistency and long-term connections. “I strive to build relationships where clients see us not only as auditors, but as strategic advisors who understand their business, their risks and their goals,” he explains. “That means being accessible, proactive and thoughtful in how we communicate, and providing insights that help clients make confident decisions beyond compliance.”

Since opening, CohnReznick’s Sacramento office has grown from about a dozen team members to more than 50. As the assurance department’s local practice leader, Bocar works with partners, directors, managers and associates within the local office and across the firm’s offices.

“As a leader, my motto is to make everyone an essential part of the team because everyone is needed to deliver exceptional client service,” says Bocar. “I want to ensure all team members are welcome and to prioritize each person’s goals and objectives to help them grow, succeed and achieve their best potential.”

Bocar works primarily in tax-incentivized real estate, with a focus on affordable housing. His greatest professional satisfaction is working with his clients and the communities they serve to provide affordable housing solutions that leverage private-sector funding and federal, state and local government resources.
