For over three decades, KidsFirst has stood as a cornerstone of support for children and families in Placer County. As the region’s designated child abuse prevention and family resource agency, our mission is clear: to empower and strengthen families through compassionate care, early intervention and community collaboration.
At the heart of our work is a team of passionate professionals — therapists, case managers, advocates and educators — who show up every day with one goal in mind: helping families thrive. From counseling and parent education to youth programs and crisis intervention, our services are designed to meet families where they are and walk alongside them on their path to stability and healing.
In recent years, we’ve expanded our impact by launching specialized programs focused on maternal and infant health care, mental health and father engagement. These programs are critical for addressing the complex and evolving needs of our community, especially in underserved and high-risk populations.
“As the region’s designated child abuse prevention and family resource agency, our mission is clear: to empower and strengthen families through compassionate care, early intervention and community collaboration.”
But it’s not just about programs. It’s about people. It’s about the single mom who found stability through parenting classes, the teenager who discovered their voice through trauma-informed therapy, and the father who reconnected with his children thanks to our Forever Fathers program. Behind every success story is a KidsFirst team member who believed in the power of change.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without strong partnerships — with local schools, health care providers, law enforcement and fellow nonprofits. Together, we create a safety net that ensures no child falls through the cracks.
As we look ahead, we remain rooted in our belief that prevention is possible, hope is powerful and every child deserves a safe, healthy start in life. KidsFirst is more than a service provider; we are a movement of community, compassion and commitment.
