FOUNDATION FOR CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES

25 YEARS OF SUPPORTING CALIFORNIA’S COMMUNITY COLLEGES

Back Sponsored Aug 29, 2023

The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC), the nonprofit partner to the California Community Colleges, serves the nation’s largest and most diverse system of higher education as an innovation hub and intermediary for transformative change at scale. Supporting the Chancellor’s Office and 116 colleges, FoundationCCC leverages the reach of this expansive system to help more Californians achieve economic and social mobility.

Led by President and CEO Keetha Mills, the organization operates more than 70 programs and services that improve educational access and affordability, address basic needs, connect students to work-based learning, and tackle local climate change effects. Since 1998, they have been building stronger communities by getting students and colleges the resources they need to succeed.

“Community colleges have the power to change lives,” says FoundationCCC Board of Directors Vice Chair Patrick Mulvaney. “FoundationCCC is an important partner in upholding this value and ensuring education is attainable for all individuals, regardless of background or circumstances.”

FoundationCCC recently leveraged its statewide reach and financial systems infrastructure to partner with several state agencies and distribute more than $1 billion in relief dollars to individuals to address continuing effects of the pandemic. In the last several years, the organization has also awarded nearly $30 million in scholarships to more than 15,000 students.

Most recently, FoundationCCC’s Student Ambassador Program, which provides stipends to students to serve as oncampus advocates, hit a major milestone. Through peer-to-peer outreach, more than 1 million students have been connected with resources addressing food insecurity, mental health and technology.

“Community colleges have the power to change lives. FoundationCCC is an important partner in upholding this value and ensuring education is attainable for all individuals, regardless of background or circumstances.” — PATRICK MULVANEY Board of Directors Vice Chair

In June, FoundationCCC reaffirmed its commitment to climate action by launching the Center for Climate Futures. Through this initiative, FoundationCCC is helping colleges leverage their strengths in sustainable operations and infrastructure, workforce development for essential green careers, and more.

All of this work is made possible through partnerships with like-minded organizations, including philanthropy, public agencies, corporations and donors. Learn more today about how you can work with FoundationCCC and amplify our collective impact on students, colleges and communities.
