A Better Way to Build Websites

Digital Deployment empowers communication and connects communities

Back Sponsored Aug 1, 2014

This company is not ordinary. And neither are their employees, clients or projects, for that matter. With a unique approach to workplace wellness that includes heavily investing in their team members through healthy eating, coaching, travel and unlimited vacation, Digital Deployment has found a winning formula for recruiting, retaining and empowering the very best talent.

What Digital Deployment does exceedingly well, besides creating award-winning websites using a powerful, scalable content management system, is caring for and  empowering their employees. This translates to doing the same for their clients and their community. Recently recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” and a “Healthiest  Employer” by the Sacramento Business Journal, the validation by the local business community confirms they are on the right path.

At Digital Deployment each team member represents a value like kindness, collaboration, transformation or truth. Employees check in weekly using an anonymous survey to help measure team connectedness and how present these values are within the company. The results, along with the kudos they write to one another, are publicly displayed on their Happy Shiny People wall. “It’s just another way for us to reinforce who we are for the world,” says Sloane Dell’Orto, VP, Operations.

The organization’s primary focus is to empower communication and connect communities by helping their clients succeed on the web. To do that, the company employs a distinctive 5 Phase Process, designed to put clients at ease and establish a baseline of trust. The steps in their 5 Phase Process go beyond typical content discovery and design discussions, and dig deeper through user stories, stakeholder homework, field trips and a training retreat.

“Our clients consider us to be an extension of their own in-house team,” says Carsen Anthonisen, VP, Client Services. “That allows us to set the tone for a collaborative and successful relationship for the long-term.”

And establish long-term relationships they have. At last count, Digital Deployment currently hosts 146 client sites, which points to a lot of satisfied customers and quality referrals. The team would like to take their success on the road, quite literally, by expanding.

“We want to make a bigger impact on even more organizations,” says CEO Mac Clemmens, “which means expanding and growing so we can transform significantly more communities.”
