BENDER INSURANCE SOLUTIONS

THRIVING TOGETHER: ELEVATING CLIENT SUCCESS THROUGH EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING

Back Sponsored Mar 1, 2024

Founded 86 years ago with a mission of providing protection, superior service, and education, Bender Insurance Solutions remains a unique employee-owned, family-led commercial insurance and surety brokerage in the Sacramento region. In addition, the company is currently led by all women.

“We choose the best people for our leadership positions and our current team happens to be made up of all women,” says President and CEO Maggie Bender-Johnson, the third generation of the Bender family to guide the company.

“We’ve created an environment that appeals to anyone on a career path in this industry but that also particularly suits women trying to balance their lives within and outside of the company.”

“We’ve created an environment that appeals to anyone on a career path in this industry but that also particularly suits women trying to balance their lives within and outside of the company.” — Maggie Bender-Johnson, President and CEO

The company’s culture emphasizes balance between work and home life, with an unlimited paid time off policy. “We’ve done away with a tiered structure of accruing paid time off, wanting everyone to have the same level of balance regardless of how long they’ve been with the organization,” explains Bender. “We’re also very flexible in allowing folks to work from locations that work for them, knowing they will accomplish what needs to be done.”

The company’s flexibility and trust go hand in hand, leading to a level of comfort and satisfaction among the employee-owners that ultimately serves clients best.

“We pay attention to what is important to our employees, and by taking care of them, they can do their absolute best to take care of our clients,” says Bender. “It’s a winning situation for all.”

As Bender Insurance Solutions sets its sights on ambitious growth goals, the women in leadership roles also inspire and mentor other women making careers with the company. All employee-owners — both women and men — are motivated and look forward to seeing the company through to the milestone of 100 years in business.
