Maya Wallace serves on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, most recently as co-chair of the commission’s Race and Cultural Equity task force. By day, she ensures program integrity and works to improve organizational performance at the California Department of Justice. A dedicated community advocate, she has worked on a number of issues, including promoting healthy communities, housing and homelessness advocacy, and neighborhood empowerment through civic applications of open data. While not a currently practicing artist, Maya is trained in classical guitar and music theory and is immersed in the visual and performing arts via her family, friends and colleagues.
