Ashley Tate is an enormous asset to not only SAFE Credit Union, but also to the Sacramento region. As SAFE’s public affairs specialist, she works closely within the bank’s community relations department on public relations and is responsible for managing sponsorship of the SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District, one of Sacramento’s most frequented attractions.
Tate’s background includes roles as a retail manager, which fostered her love of customer relations, and with Align Capital Region, where she worked to convene employers, educators, community leaders and elected officials to make a positive community impact. It was through this work that she realized she wanted to join the SAFE Credit Union team, recognizing SAFE’s community involvement and philanthropic efforts.
“SAFE is growing in membership, which will allow us to grow philanthropically, too. We are eager for all of the possibilities!” — Ashley Tate, Public Affairs Specialist
As part of SAFE’s 25-year commitment and investment in the SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District, Tate is eager to see financial literacy workshops hosted for the community at the venue. “Financial literacy is one of my passions,” she says. “I would love for SAFE to leverage any opportunities to host financial literacy classes there, bringing students from the school districts we work with together to learn the basics of credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, budgeting and more.”
Throughout her work life, Tate has championed the concept of bringing multiple organizations and voices to the table. “Recently, I’ve been very involved with many local chambers of commerce, school districts and employers through SAFE’s community relations team,” she says. “I’m also always looking for organizations we can partner with and assist. SAFE employees get 16 hours of paid time to volunteer, so keeping our employees engaged while helping nonprofits is one of my goals, too.”
Tate refers to SAFE’s public relations efforts as the product of a well-oiled team and looks forward to continuing their community involvement and philanthropy throughout the region. “SAFE is growing in membership, which will allow us to grow philanthropically, too,” she says. “We are eager for all of the possibilities!”
