For over 40 years, Deacon has maintained an intimate family culture while growing and building a diverse portfolio. With offices in Seattle, Portland, Sacramento and Pleasanton, a satellite office in Santa Ana, and more than 300 employees, the team completes over $500 million in work each year.
The Sacramento office manages multifamily, general construction and special projects, including industrial, retail, hospitality, capital improvement, senior living, affordable housing and a multitude of other market sectors.
At the heart of every project are the Deacon core values: honesty, transparency and teamwork. At Deacon, strong communication is a must.
Chris Helbock, senior project manager, says the 19 years he has worked at Deacon have been very rewarding. “It really does feel like you are part of a family working here,” he says. “All of the employees will and have helped support one another through many different issues, both personal and work-related.
Fellow Project Managers Katelan Anoushirvani and Kellen Wilson concur.
“Working at Deacon has been an absolute privilege,” says Anoushirvani. “The teams work closely to go above and beyond to delight their clients. Our site team always maintains the utmost sensitivity and respect of the residents neighboring the work, not to mention keeping the safety of all involved at the forefront.”
“It’s all about the importance of relationships with Deacon. Relationships with clients, relationships with subcontractors, and relationships among employees.” — Katelan Anoushirvani Project Manager
Wilson enjoys being part of many diverse projects and values Deacon’s timely and stable environment. “In doing this, we continue our ongoing cooperation with the local municipalities, cities and counties,” he says. “Deacon continues to be a strong, reliable contractor that owners depend on to get them through challenging projects.”
When Helbock, Anoushirvani and Wilson aren’t working on ensuring their projects are a success, they give back to their community in various ways. Helbock recently volunteered to work on a home refresh for a Sacramento family to touch up paint, fix fencing and replace doors. Anoushirvani participated in a project to build a playground at FosterHope in Sacramento. In addition, the Deacon Charitable Foundation has supported human services, animal welfare and the environment in every community they serve.
