Established in 1986, Alston Construction has grown to 23 offices, providing design-build construction services in major markets nationwide. This general contractor’s primary goal is to deliver quality, cost-efficient projects that result in positive experiences for clients. Proof of their success is evident in the fact that 87 percent of their work comes from repeat clients, including Kubota, for whom they previously constructed a facility in Lodi, California.
The Alston Construction team, led by Superintendent Eric Johnson, Project Manager Tom McGuire and Assistant Project Manager Adrian Martinez, managed the construction of Kubota Tractor Corporation’s Western Division Sales Office and Distribution Center, now the largest single-story building in Elk Grove.
“We’re helping to build the Sacramento and Northern California region from the ground up, and this beautiful facility will serve Kubota well, standing as a great example of the projects we deliver,”

Alston broke ground on this 631,465-square-foot facility in September 2021 and finished construction in summer 2023. The building, which will facilitate Kubota’s administrative, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and training needs, provides 50,000 square feet of office space including classrooms and shop space for the Kubota University training program, warehouse space, crane assembly line, satellite offices within the warehouse, eight drive-in doors, and 19 dock high doors.
“Kubota was a true partner throughout the whole process,” says Superintendent Eric Johnson. “They were flexible and able to make quick, reasonable decisions when challenges surfaced and supported us well. We’re pleased to provide them with this state-of-the-art office and distribution center.”
The facility is designed to expand to 1 million square feet in future phases. Alston worked with RMW Architects to design the rear wall to remain in place, but with knock-out portions to allow functional movement of personnel and equipment once the expansion is completed.
Alston’s notable projects in the area include Natomas Advanced Logistics Center in Sacramento, which received the Business Journal’s Industrial Project of the Year award; Dignity Health medical office building in Citrus Heights; and Highland Pointe Class A office buildings in Roseville.
