Airco is celebrating 50 years of excellence in the mechanical construction and service industries. One of the region’s leading full-service mechanical contracting companies, Airco specializes in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing services, both designing and installing for new builds and servicing and maintaining those systems for long-term clients.

Airco works with the region’s major general contractors on the most significant and iconic projects in the health care, higher education and government markets. The company also holds contracts to service and maintain mechanical systems for the area’s largest health care providers, including Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health, colleges and universities like UC Davis and Sacramento State, and the California Department of General Services, which includes dozens of state offices and the State Capitol.

“My father, James C. Jones, launched this company in 1974 with one pickup truck and a handful of employees,” says CEO Wyatt Jones. “Now we have a fleet of 75 trucks and 200 employees and have grown from his original 2,500-square-foot shop to our 110,000-square-foot headquarters and fabrication facility at Depot Park in Sacramento with a satellite office in the Bay Area to oversee our work there.”

One of the most critical aspects of any contractor’s work is safety and over the years, Airco has earned multiple safety awards from the Associated General Contractors of California as well as the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association. 

The company has a backlog of work for many years to come but stands ready for new projects at any time. Upcoming projects include the new Kaiser hospital at the Railyards and the new central utility plant on the UC Davis campus.
