The Sacramento Food Film Festival is offering free community screenings of short films focusing on urban farming in partnership with the Sacramento Urban Agriculture Coalition, the grassroots food policy group working on city and county ordinances to expand urban farming in our community and Slow Food Sacramento.
The selected films will demonstrate how urban farming can impact
a community. If the Sacramento Urban Agriculture Ordinance passes
in March, urban farms in Sacramento City will be able to legally
sell the food that they grow. This event will highlight this
important ordinance and the value of urban farming.
VIPea guests will take a bus tour of 3 urban farms in Sacramento,
ending at a free community film screening and pop-up urban farm
stand. Between stops guests will watch short films and hear
experts speak on urban farming and the urban agriculture
ordinance, while enjoying paired bites from Oliver Ridgeway,
Executive Chef of the Grange and Michael Thiemann, Executive Chef
of Mother.
